The beast and hunter

Recently I just watched Pacific Rim. I thought it will be a rip-off from Transformer, battleship and battle Los Angeles but it isn't, far from it! It looks more like Code Geass and Gundam Seed where humans enter a big mecha to fight off another mecha in a war between two mechas. But Pacific Rim needs two humans to control one mecha which is called as Jaegers in German as Hunter to fight off the Kaiju in Japanese means strange creature, or beast as used in this movie.

Strangely enough the movie started with the main character losing his older brother in the battle, which is the same as the Battleship and the title only released after an epilogue which is the same as Transformer movies (I believe it was the 2nd and 3rd, not certain about the 1st movie). Hence there is a resemblance from other movies.

I find the storyline progresses really slowly where after they have search the main actor and invited him to rejoin the group. It was good that they give an insight on how the group was reform with bigger and better Jaegers from other countries, after the government intend to shut everything. The fight was intense and a definite watch with spectacular effects that will make your eyes ogle on the screen and jump off your seats!

However, is it just me or have anyone realize that the settings is always raining?

The Man who is Super

Helloooo my junkies! Hadn't wrote any movie reviews for a long time, was quite busy and lazy at the same time. Well to top it off, I am now a graduate! WOHOOO! Currently searching for a job but the outcome is devastating as I get more rejections than approvals.

Anyhoodle, I'm here to talk about one of the remake of superman movie with a new title "Man of Steel". I was never really a huge superman fan, because I have always laughed at him wearing his undies on the outside but nevertheless, I still watched it.

The movie started where superman came from and how he landed in Earth. That was a good start, but with the frequent flashback, sometimes it is not easy to figure out which is the present and past. The camera is not steady at some point where it moves along with the actors and that causes a slight motion-sickness. Also, the fight is tremendously long, too much action of throwing, flying, fighting, and buildings falling. Moreover, I thought I would have seen the end of the movie where General Zod, the villain surrendered and kneel before Clark Kent (superman), but it wasn't!

Krypton exploded like this
The fight goes on until they enter a building where a family was crouch at the corner of the building and General Zod wanted to kill them with his laser eyes. That's where superman got really angry and break Zod's neck, and yeap that's the end of the General's life. The ending is rather too simple and mundane in my opinion where he just a break of the neck-snap- and he's dead. How easy, why wouldn't he do that in the beginning?

Guess we have to see the fights, superman's emotions with his father, and a little romance with Lois Lane (ohh laa laa) to make the movie worthwhile. However, it was not how I anticipated.

Accutane victim!

For those who had gone through self-pity and disgusted look from others due to acne problem would probably have gone to resolve with accutane. The problem solver for acne, probably for cystic and eczema as well.

My problem actually started around the age of 18, when I was studying in University in KL. I think the humid weather, bad late night oily snacks and the dirt or dust surrounding the area was the cause of it. As, I never had any crucial facial problems, I never really know how to take care of my face and I used all those mainstream products on the shelves; simple, nivea, olay, clean & clear. I keep changing different facial wash as I think my face was probably gotten used to it and I need to use a more effective ingredient.

The problem became worse around 19 and my both cheek was so hideous I started to cry every night. I stayed away from mirrors and avoid spicy and oily food. I even try to wash my face whenever I reached my uni. I always end up in a sweaty state when I enter the class, it is a horrible site, probably why I was ugly.

Finally my dad couldn't take it any longer, he took me to the dermatologist and they recommended me their own face wash. I used it for half a year and it didn't work. Then only they recommended me accutane, the last resort. The derma did warn me the side effects about probable liver, heart or kidney defects from overdose of Vitamin A, but left out another important part- HAIR LOSS!

After consuming accutane for 3 months, I realize my hair was thinning and was falling more than the usual. I first thought it was because of the chemical I used as I dyed my hair before I ate accutane. So I went insane one day and cut off my hair to my chin length. However my hair never stop dropping, although it is true that a human hair fall averagely 100-150 per day, but mine was excessive and I was not born with thick locks. I visited the dermatologist again and asked her, she mentioned yes, that is one of the side effect.

So now, I mustn't eat any food that contain vitamin A and beta-carotene is one of the major source. In frustration, I searched for a way-out. Some mention that biotin helps, but it could cause breakouts. That means it is a cycle again, and I wouldn't want that to happen! I told myself not to purchase that supplement but rather feed on more vitamin C and E fruits and veggies and also direct vitamin C and E capsules.

I am really hoping my excessive hair fall will stop. Stupidly my tears have gone from my acne to my hair fall. I could never stop crying for myself! I am ridiculously a silly lass.

That 3 months

It has been 3 months since I last wrote. Many things had happened- both sad and wonderful. To think about it, I realize the time has passed really quickly. I have been here in Bristol for 8 months and I still remember the first day my friends and I landed in Heathrow airport with big huge smile on our faces, and an appetite for adventure. We had absolutely no idea what may come and we were too excited to be living and studying abroad for the very first time!

And so, months gone by, I've submitted my dissertation (FYP) and didn't do very well on it. I have no idea why when I put so much effort into it. I cried bitterly for that few days when the result were out and I nearly lost all hope but manage to pull myself back. Then on the month of April, I had to study for my exams. It was a grueling month as I told myself I must concentrate on my exams and nothing else because I could never sit in my room for whole 2 days, I could die of boredom. Hence it was a tough month for me.

On the day of my FYP submission, I made a new friend. Well basically he is my classmate and we took two same subjects. He was always the first in class and waved to me and my friends whenever we enter the class and I didn't really liked him because he gave the feeling of a nerd and he was like a butt-licker to one of the lecturer. I was quite annoyed with his constant raising his hand to ask questions. He reminded me of Hermione but a guy version and not-so-good-looking one. (I'm just so mean). However, we became good friend and he became my study buddy as he was really patient with my ridiculous questions and weirdly kind too. I could say the quote "do not judge the book by it's cover" is true for this friend.

Finally my exams end at the 22nd May. My friend and I went for an event which the songs they played is not my cup of tea, but I was dragged along to go for that event "Love Save The Day'. However it was quite fun as I enjoyed the day out chilling in the park plus the weather is too gorgeous to missed!

Life is not all fun and crazy. My life is like a rollercoaster, there is ups and down. I believe it happens to everyone. I got a shocking news from my mum that my dad was diagnosed with cancer. They kept it from me because I was having exams and they didn't want me to lose focus. As exaggerating as it sound, I went into depression for two days, I wouldn't want to go out or meet anyone or even eat. I didn't have any strength in me to do anything, I was like a fish out of water. My eyes were like the tap. Tears could fall at any time and stop at any time. I couldn't control myself.

Then, I was too tired to be sad, I finally went out for some sunshine.

Lately, I am just lazing around in my room or talk a short walk around the city and plan for my coming holiday. It is my first ever backpacking experience and I'm partly afraid and partly excited at the same time.

So far, that's what been happening for the past 3 months.

I'll probably write something more interesting rather than my life story. Cheerio

failure is not the end

"Embrace my fall and move forward".

To be brave physically is easy, to be brace emotionally is the tough one.

Lately, a few minor setback causes me to lose my mind. It may be minor, but the compilation of all the minors had become one huge major problem! I was breaking out and breaking down. For starters was my assignment where I got no help, aside from my lab mate, my supervisor wasn't helping much and he doesn't give a damn to what I really do. I felt hopeless and was almost on the edge.

My mother wasn't helping much either and started giving me lectures about relationship, money advice and some other of her problems which I am really hoping not to bother. I started cutting myself on my left wrist but I was still afraid of getting physical pain, I just used my nails and left some deep red markings- no blood, no mess.

Aside that, I was still in contact with Sebastian, on some occasion for a particular reason but I know if this goes on, I'll really get to like him, and it will be a problem. I just have to block my heart, block my feelings, lock them up and threw them out. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it couldn't, again I have to embrace it and find something to keep myself busy to forget the moment.

However, at times I get lonely and think the most unusual stuff, the sad moment, the stupid moment, the happy moment, the self-conscious moment and finally went into depression and cried myself to sleep. It happens at time, I don't think I'm bipolar, or maybe I'm the minor one (I don't really know). I believe it happened to everyone, just that no one ever said they are.

Due to the fact that I'm susceptible to sweet words, I'm telling myself to close my heart and be cold to all compliments. To never reveal my weakness and never accept sweet words. I'll just pretend to accept with a 'thank you'.

Chinese New Year party @ Vanity

Another asian party host by Nee Hao magazine. Well kudos to them for a successful event! I realize they must have love DJ Phat because he was also spinnin' at 'Syndicate sexy foam party'.

Anyhoodle, the organizer are probably quite weak in human resourcing skills. Well, the previous event was held on a Thursday and is in Syndicate, which I personally think is quite spacious and it turn out to have such small crowd, it look really pathetic. While this event in Vanity took place on Friday, oh come on, ever heard of TGIF? It was packed with lots of people till the bouncers wouldn't allow people to enter and the coat room was full!

Are you kidding me? This was the first time a coat room was full and everyone had to leave their coats on the coach! That wasn't even the funny part yet. At one point, the DJ asked everyone to squeeze to the back (which was already packed!) to give some space so the break dancers could bust some moves.

AGAIN, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! I'm not in rage, but it is bewildering to have a bunch of break dancers showing their moves in the middle of a dance in the CLUB. I was really surprised! Beside, it was just the basic toprock, handstand, flare and it lasted about 5 minutes.

i was ecstatic
Oh not to mention the repetition of songs I heard from the DJ. No offense but the songs were somewhat similar with the previous event. I am seriously bored with Gangnam style, it is FRIGGIN ANNOYING! Aside that, other songs were quite alright, probably I missed a few because when I suggested some songs, he mention he had played them. But he played Swedish House Mafia -don't worry child on my request, I was psyched!

Also I met a lad, danced and spent the whole night with him till 6am. Naw I didn't snog him, wasn't tipsy enough to do it. He's really sweet and I feel bad of lying my identity to him. Well, in my opinion, what's the point of telling someone your real name, is not as if they'll remember. I went to party, dance and enjoy the night away.

My first encounter with SNOW

I was awoke from the sound of an incoming message with two sentences from my flatmate. I quote "Uni is closed. Have you ever seen snow?" I quickly dash towards my window, climbed on my desk and drew my curtain and screamed "OMG SNOW!!!!"

Yes, I sounded like an innocent young child who had never seen snow, which is true because I had never actually seen snow with my own eyes! I was delirious! I opened my window, stuck my hand out to feel the snow, it was so wonderful, each snowdrop felt cool on my skin. I went out of my room to the kitchen, both of my flatmates were there. I told I want to go out now. I want to touch, play, kick and possibly eat the snow!! I was like a mad woman jumping around and squealing with excitement. It was all too much for me, I couldn't control.
Ange and I building snowman
Our snowman! our fingers were freezing lol
say CHEESE!

SNOWANGEL!

Finally, my flatmate and I went out to castlepark, made snowman, I made snowangel (though it wasn't clear) and I imprint my bum on a snow and wrote our names in the snow. But it didn't last! I went out again with another friend to Brandon Hill and it was packed with people sleighing!

Some sleigh with real sleighs while some took plastic bags and another use a broken baking tray, practically anything that could slide down that hill.

I will never forget that day! 18th January 2013 =)

Recap end of 2012, start of 2013

Well, I supposed if the weatherman can't predict the weather, how would The Mayans predict the end of the world? So I end my 2012 with my aunt and her family in London eating home-cooked food while enjoying the loud and extravagantly fireworks displaying surrounding her place.

Winter break was almost over as I came back to Bristol. I still had a week left before my class starts so, my flatmate invited me to her friend's post-birthday party and we went to a club that we never knew it existed, Mr. Wolf's. I wouldn't want to offend anyone but I had some bad experience.

First of all, the club is really small and the bouncer wouldn't let us in and we had to stand under the rain, in the freezing weather for half hour. When we finally got it, things weren't any better. People are shoving while getting pass. Most of them have a glass of alcohol on their hands, so I was splashed all over and my flatmate was pushed so hard she fell on her bum. Some idiot bloke was pushing another bloke, and my flatmate (unluckily) was behind one of them.

I wasn't lucky either, some really fuck up bloke threw a beer bottle in the air, and it landed on my right ear. It was so painful and my ears was burning hot with stingy sensation! It was ridiculous! I lost my mood and urge my flatmate to return, she agreed and we left- a reminder to ourselves never to return to that club again.

Time pass really quickly, in a blink of an eye is already the month of February!

Friendzone

Guys, quit your complaining about girls 'friendzon-ing' you. It is not the end of the world and you're not the only one. Girls get it too, where I was friendzone a couple of times.

Matter a fact, I only get to know that word when I was in uni, kinda late, I know. I was actually friendzone in my high school (only realized it later) but I didn't really care because my high school is like my drunk history- everyone knows except me.

So, as I was in uni, I had a crush on this guy, and we got quite close and friendly. We were in a dance club, and it was only a small group, so everyone knows everyone (like literally). And there is this beautiful girl in the group, which was graded as 'slut' on some purpose, had attracted 5 guys in the group. Apparently, one of those guys is the one whom I liked.

One fine day, he texted me that he need to talked to me personally, I was surprised, curious but felt quite happy, thinking he may confess or tell me a wonderful secret. Lo and behold, he told me he had feelings for that 'slut' girl and needed my help. No matter, I swallow my disheartened pride and helped him, give some tips and try to make her hang out with him. Somehow they didn't work out and I lost my feelings for him.

So moving on, there's another guy, my friend's cousin, it may seem awkward but we known each other fairly well and long. It may seem as deja vu, he asked me how to woo a girl. Asking every detail to know if it could work out between him and her.

There was a few more guys whom I've helped, but I'm too lazy to write the story as it is always the same.

So guys, girls get friendzone as well, but we don't complain or make a big deal out of it. Honestly, I'm starting to hate that word.

Untitled

Have you ever wake up one day, not knowing what is gonna happen and what you're gonna do? How will the day be like? A repetitive one or an impromptu one that make it interesting? One could never know until they themselves create their own story.

It could always start with "Once upon a day" and it could also end with "They live happily every after". This however is not a fairytale, although I've always prefer fantasy than reality, the reality will always slam in my face. I tend to realize and observed many things in reality and brood about it, giving some idiotic hypothesis and conclusion where sometimes it could be wrong but almost every time I'm right.

I tried not to over look or even over think but it just come naturally, which I really despise it. This makes me more mature than my own age.

I tend to go crazy and spout rubbish every now and then and laugh really loudly. This is the only best way to cover what I really feel inside, disallow others to enter my soul. Despite having some friends and a loving family, I still feel lonely and depress. At time I would like to scream or cry, or just dance till my feet hurts. I want to drown my sorrow but doesn't know how. It is like stabbing into a sponge which leaves no mark.

Smiling and laughing is like a shade to block my thoughts. Covers my constant overwhelming emotional feeling away from people. I smile because I need to and I can.

Recap

Okay a long story short on these few months. For starters, I coincidentally met that (crab) guy again in Syndicate one Friday night whom I tried to ignore but I failed. Oh well, I named him Crab because his real name is Sebastian and it reminded me of Sebastian the crab in Little Mermaid. We still have a little contact with each other but only for a purpose. Another guy whom I danced with in the foam party was long forgotten- out of sight, out of mind.

Then in school, my lab partner became slightly kinder which really surprised me. At times he was kind and at times he wasn't, which really boggles my mind. But I don't give a damn. And I got to know more about this Nepalese petite girl who is really cute and funny but we're not that close. On the other hand, I got quite close to Dominic, my senior, and no apparent reason we became buddies!

Once he brought me to a house party, a freaking lame one that doesn't involve music or booze but only spending the time playing cards, which I still couldn't get it because all the time they use mandarin! Though I still stay and play. We exchange numbers, created a group chat and started hanging out a few times. Just recently, I've celebrated one of the birthdays and realized I've already celebrated 3 person's birthday. I can bet no one will celebrate mine as it is in the summer holiday, I'll probably be back to Malaysia with only my family to celebrate.

Aside that, one night after my last coursework of this term was submitted, I finally had a joint after 6 months in rehab. Well I'm not a smoker, but I stayed at home for 4 months and since I came to UK, I didn't smoke anything, so that was my first since I got here. It was extremely satisfying! I didn't get high, it was only a few puffs.

Well, I guess that's it.

pu na na

Last Tuesday, my friends and I planned to go Pam Pam, sadly it was closed. Hence, we wanted to enter Bunker, but a girl in the group hated that place, god knows why, asked and she never replied and she was being fickle! Rejecting that suggestion but in the end saying it will be alright 'if' we did enter.

Somehow I always hated fickle-minded people, I did had the urge to slap her or just give some really nasty comment, but I just ignored her. Finally we went to the nearest club, just a few blocks down from Bunker and enter Pu Na Na. Though, I've never been in there, but i had the feeling it won't be good, because it is a Tuesday, and there was no queue outside.

As, we enter, the crowd was pathetic! It was so little, you could just walk without bumping to anyone! Despite of having a good time, dancing and jumping, the DJ wasn't good, the songs were on repeat after each 2-3 songs and the club closes before 2.30 a.m.! It was horrendous! Honestly, I was just exaggerating but yes, it was really bad! Probably the DJ and the early departure- I was still in a good mood though.

Anyhoodle, Pu Na Na have other days which are better on Tuesday. This is just my point of view, I don't wish to make an offense. Bunker is good on a Tuesday, it seems.

Hot or Beautiful?

Ladies, which do you prefer being called as; hot or beautiful? Once a while we do have that small fluttering feeling if a guy whistle as we passed, called us hot or sexy in an outfit, right? Is just our hormones that define us as woman, the gender with attractiveness and beauty that we just have to flaunt!

I don't mean to show it to everyone but you can show it privately to your own husband/boyfriend/lover- whichever and in every way, we just love to flaunt!

Somehow for me, I got awfully tired to be called 'hot'. Before you snicker, thinking this girl isn't pretty, well, I don't know how to compare beauty- seriously, but yes, I was considered 'hot' in some cases, mostly on the dance floor. Just because I know how to dance in a club, or so they say I dance good (still doubtful), they always compliment me with 'hot'.

Am I just all that? The term 'hot' is not giving much respect to a girl, it may seem crude in another form of slutty or bitchy. And it doesn't last long either! Hotness can fade away either by dressing or the looks or the body, but beauty, is the key to a female every personality!

A girl's beauty last till old age, because is inside a woman's soul and body!

I really wish one day someone would come up to me and say "You're beautiful".

Movember

The days are shorter, the nights are longer! An opposite words from 'Phineas & Ferb 2D Dimension Movie'. Well these represent the days I'm living in. Is only 5 pm and is as dark as 8pm!

UK is still a mind-boggling country to me and I haven't accepted the cold yet. It was only last week, at the end of October where the temperature was fine with a cool breeeze of 15-8 degrees. A sudden sheer drop, all the way down to 1 degrees left me searching for the panic button.

I definitely wasn't prepared. Beside it rains almost every night.  Wet, damp and cold is not my forte. I prefer something warm and a small cooling wind brushing up my skin. Not icy cold wind that penetrates through my skins and bite my bones! Who would have like that, anyway?

Plus, I've heard is a tad too early to have such temperature. Because is only the start of November, winter comes in December, so the local people said!

What may come next month I wonder, will the temperature drop even further? How can I survive such condition? I'm still recovering from my fever, is already been a week, and I feel like a slug!

p/s: for those who doesn't know, Movember is the combination of Moustache & November. =)

HAPPY MOVEMBER!

Sexy foam party @ Syndicate 2012

First off, I never intended to go for this party because it is EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for just the entrance. 10 pounds!!! Definitely a rip-off! Just because is an "Asian Party". Oh how racist and insulting! Plus, is a foam party, I didn't think it was gonna be a good one because is an indoor foam party, probably they just sprayed the foam like water droplets. Something like those fake snow?

Anyhoodle, that cute girl who I went with to Erasmus party urge me to go  AND I did wanted to go out that night. I was hoping my flatmate would take me somewhere but she's only going to a pub with her friends who I doesn't know. It will be awkward and slightly boring. So I ignore the price and have fun and crazy that night!
in cloud 9

And hell I did! The crowd was absolutely pathetic, maybe because it was a weekday, Thursday and maybe there ain't much of Asians here in bristol? Plus the downside as well, the club is way too bright! I always enter clubs which are so dark I couldn't find my friends, while it was so clear and bright, I could find my friends in 5 meters away.

Again I drank 3 shots but slower this time as I don't want to waste 10 pound cuddling the toilet bowl, not this time baby! First was jaggerbomb and then vodka. And my third drink was paid by someone I just met- also Jaggerbomb.

Well it so happen I was searching for my friend after I went to the loo, he came up to me asking if I want to dance. I didn't know why I couldn't say no, but I just think "Well, is just a dance, is not like anything gonna happen, beside is such a small crowd, I can just kick him in the face. LOL"

And we danced the whole night. IMO, he doesn't really know how to dance, because he hold onto me too tight, i could barely breathe! Dancing should let go of the partner slightly, so they can move. Anyway, he tried to kiss me a few times, but I say no and pushed his head away. Not sure why.

The foam was definitely not what I anticipated. Thick foam was spraying out from a hose in all directions, unless a person stands at a bar or the stairs, far away from it, that person will not be wet. I got totally soaked and is not easy to breathe! The foam came onto my face; my nose was stuck and it enter my eyes, a stinging sensation because I was wearing contacts! I had no choice but to use my friend's clothes to wipe it off! Sorry Dom! :P

We danced till the club ends and walk home wet, soggy and cold! Yup 2 days later I got a fever, so bad I couldn't get up from my bed. Oh what an experience!!

p/s: I took a few puff from the guy whom I danced with, Jonathan. =P

The Anchor

My flatmate wanted to chill for the night, so we went out somewhere nearby to a pub name "The Anchor". Her friend was there to meet us at the bus stop and I invited the "crab from little mermaid". LOL

Well, I don't want to feel alone, because she have her friend and usually 3 people can't make a good conversation! So, we drank a bit and chatted. It was only a pub beside a car wash, fair pricing and blasting those MTV music- mainstream ones.

We had to go back early before 12am because we had an early class the next day. But oh boy, did I not sleep early! That little devil kept me awake and want to visit my room! I shoo-ed him off to downstairs at the main door, and we're both hugging intimately, I feel totally embarrassed!! We're at the front door, where people walk in and out, and some nosy douche poke his head out of the window and start teasing us about sex. OMG!!

Finally, I went inside and after much confrontation, he manage to leave. Leaving me with a goodnight kiss on my forehead. I swoon!

This may lead you to think I'm an easy girl who gets happy easily, well sorta but I don't think he's a keeper. Beside, a small kiss doesn't meant anything, right? ;)

That boy have some smooth moves, with his ever invigorating hormones, he's just looking for girls... if you know what I mean. But i'm not gonna fit into that category!

Erasmus Party in Bristol 2012

A sudden impromptu invite from Dom, my senior to an Erasmus Party at Basement 45. I wasn't sure where was it or what's the meaning of 'erasmus'!

I went home to google it, and find out the exact location of the place. Somehow I was afraid to go because I barely knew my senior and it says 'Basement 45'- a basement means an underground area which I think may be secluded and dark and creepy! And if anything bad happen, I can't escape! I know, I've been watching far too many movies and is ridiculous!

After much thinking, I went anyway. Met Dom halfway, oh he cycle from his home! Fancy this "Hi I'm here to party, ring ring (his bike bell)!" LOL my imagination of him riding a bicycle to a club, with a new hip style!

Okay, moving on, I met his friend, a female cute girl who's quite chatty and happy-go-lucky. As we enter, we each order shots. I can't remember what they order, I know mine- vodka and tequila. And off to the dance floor! Somehow I was extremely happy that I forgot I had low tolerance towards alcohol. So I went for another shot- slippery nipples.

I've always wanted to try that after I watched "Hot Chick". It tasted ghastly! And oops, I drank 3 in on go, my heart start pumping and I feel whoozy after a short dance. Lack of oxygen as well. I went to the toilet straight after and spend 1 hour cuddling the bowl. Oh damn! what a wasted night!

Ahh~ hold your horses, is not that wasted, I met a cute guy who somehow was interested in me, god knows what! He came to me as I rest on the bench and we started talking. When I felt better, I pulled him to dance and well, I dance on him, rather intimately and yeap, we kissed! English people called it snogging.

Twice on the dance floor and once before he left. I was tipsy, so basically, my body does things my mind couldn't prevent. It was all a blur, but yet I remember some of it. Funny thing was he said he was going back, but as soon as I was leaving, I saw him waiting for me.

*total shocked* My heart skip a beat but I play it cool. And yea, we walked back together with Dom- he feels as a responsibility to take me home safely. So yea, it ended in a not-so good but a good day :)

P/s: that cutie guy was named after the crab in 'little mermaid'. a little guess ;)

night is YOUNG pt 2

Just two days ago, Friday the 28th, I went for a social night with the paintball team members. My flatmate accompanied me, which is a great thing so I don't feel alone. So we're supposed to meet them at the Student Union at 19.30, however we have no idea where the Student Union is and we make a few rounds around the campus. Quite silly though but we're new to this school as to the city as well.

Finally, we found them in the Escape Bar and we had an ice-breaker. My first drink was red aftershock with lemonade, cost me £2.11 and it tasted slightly weird but I was okay. The effect only happen right after I finish my drink because I didn't know it will since I don't get much of the alcohol. My face again turn beetroot, so I went to take a breather.

Few minutes later, we took a Wessex 13 to town and went to Commercial Rooms, apparently is under the same branch as Wetherspoon, only a different name. My flatmate chose woo woo as her drink in a pitcher as I drank a VK orange at £1.89 which definitely extremely light! I could barely feel a zing. Since is a bar/pub, there wasn't enough space and it was crowded, so we had to switch or share a seat and we had to gulp our drink down and head onto another pub.

The next was Vanilla where is more of a pub cum club- extremely loud music in the background. We had a free shot probably because we're under the guest list. And we order extra shots, my flatmate a "1,2,3..floor" and mine a Hay.... Tart, I couldn't remember the name, I know it was red in colour. They even have a spin-the-wheel so that whatever the needles land on, a person will have to drink it! Is an element of surprise. =)

We spend absolutely a short amount of time, not sure why, then we head onto ETON, said there is 50% discount for UWE students when a student ID card is shown. I bought myself another cup of spirits with Bacardi with cranberry/raspberry, it tasted like cough syrup! Even the colour looks like cough syrup! LOL, £2 but I still have to drink them. My flatmate had 3 drinks, all the same type i presume- vodka with lime and lemonade. That taste much better.
ETON

Finally we head to a club, O2 Academy and the theme was Ramshackle. Guess it was really shackling with lots of people. It was so crowded and smokey I could barely breathe! I've never been to such crowded club before. Is like while you try to dance, people move from one corner to another and some hit you with their hands or elbow and some pushed you. Is totally not worth a dance!

O2 Academy
Anyway, some crazy fellow did have a pushing game and it hurt me badly! So, we decided to change location and dance in a less crowded spot. That ended better!

O2 Academy- crowded
All in all, it was a good night ;)

Night is YOUNG

I went to two pubs and end the night in a club last Friday. I went with my flatmate and her friends. The first was at "The Woods", where drinks are slightly pricey but the ambiance is just nice to relax and have a chat. I didn't order any drinks as I doesn't want to drink yet and get tipsy in the first pub plus is expensive for a spirit ranging £2.50-£3. I've never order a drink from the bar before, so I'll let it slide.

Next we head towards Weatherspoon. They're having a promotion for 2 pitchers at the price of £10. That's really cheap because a pitcher is 2 litres of cocktails! My flatmate was incredibly kind and she treat me a drink, I think a vodka with cranberry? Soooo sweet of her, she said "Since is your first drink, I'll treat you." It quickly took effect as the alcohol wham right into my bloodstream making my heart beat a million times faster, pounding my chest and producing bright hot red onto my cheeks!

A few hours later, we head on to a club, we wanted to go to Syndicate because I read there was a foam party, should be awesome! However is too far, so we went to another club down the road to "Bunkers". I had to pay the entrance fee of £5 because we went in around 12am. It was £3 before 11 pm and £4 in the guestlist. I had a shot of Jager-bomb, cost me £2.50- if I'm not mistaken.

The songs they played were like hip-hop, R'n' B, house, commercial anthems and D&B. Those wasn't my type of songs, so I doesn't know how to dance plus my flatmate barely danced, some of her friends did and one kept texting her boyfriend, it was rather dull for me. But I still danced or move my body a bit. We end up sharing a taxi back to our apartment and some were tipsy.

I had lotsa fun getting to know people and to know how Brits party. That's all. Cheers

My Life in Bristol pt 4

Since is my first time in UK, I've never really seen their houses before. I've always thought is more of a "harry potter"-ish type with big castle, old red brick and a bridge over a small river. Most of the time I've only watched American show where their houses are huge with a big frontyard or backyard, and some with garage and attic.

However, the houses here is quite small. I don't feel cheated or sad, I think is incredible because it saves a lot of space but I've heard the whole house has only one toilet and one bathroom. I wonder how they live in such condition! I guess I can say I was lucky to have my own toilet- yet I complain the cleaning. LOL

Okay, so the houses here is something like a townhouse back in Malaysia which are all the same size and design and sticks beside another house really closely. The main gate is something like a fence in Malaysia, not like our big metal gate that protect us from thieves. There's a small step leading up to their front door but not all the houses are alike, as I go along the street from the city towards the suburban area, the house gets larger and there is also a porch to park their cars or plant some flowerbeds- whichever.

My guess is the house in the city is expensive, hence a small one without a porch. The locals mention that the house in Clifton Down are huge like a bungalow in Malaysia. I've seen a few times up on a small hill and they were vacant by rich people back in Victorian times. By the way, the pets are extremely well groom, I can see their hair silky smooth and rich in nutrients! All the dogs are in leash though and they look really tame. I've never seen one bark at any strangers but just follow the master. They would go for a jog with their master in the cold- is just too cute! I love animals but could never have one- the hassle =P

I guess that's all I can say about Bristol. Till I find something interesting, I'll add more.

Cheers
